Meet Joplin (10/12/2025) Joplin is a beautiful Australian Shepherd mix with a sensitive and thoughtful personality. She is still adjusting to life in a home environment after having limited early human interaction and is learning, at her own pace, that people can be kind, consistent, and safe. Joplin can be timid and takes time to warm up, but she continues to make progress with structure and routine. She will require a confident, experienced leader who can provide clear guidance, boundaries, and reassurance as she learns to navigate the world. Joplin must be placed in a home with another confident dog, as she relies heavily on canine companionship for reassurance and guidance. A stable dog in the home will help her continue to build confidence. She is still learning basic skills such as leash walking and household routines, and will do best with adopters who are patient, understanding, and committed to helping her grow through positive, structured experiences. Joplin would do best in a home with children aged 13 and older who can respect her space and allow her to come out of her shell naturally.
