Snail was rescued from an unspeakable case of cruelty. Despite his tragic background, he has been trusting and loving. He consistently shows the people he cares about (and that's pretty much everyone he meets) how happy he is to see them and how important they are to him. His exuberance when he gets a chance to leave his kennel at the shelter can make him seem unmanageable, but once he is away from the shelter, his true colors shine through. He needs someone to take a leap of faith to meet him to see the real Snail-away from the shelter and the barking. Just a few facts about Snail: knows sit, down, and paw Is a good hugger and kisser is food motivated and learns easily Is quiet for a husky (we've never heard him howl, and he rarely barks) Is not destructive Is housetrained Is crate trained Is cuddly Is cohoused at the shelter with other dogs Is stunning in person (no photo will do him justice) Is cooperative (with brushing, with riding in the car) Loves walks in the woods (also loves runs, but not necessary) Snail has been at Border Tails for a long time, so you may be wondering "What's wrong with him?" The answer: absolutely nothing. He thrived in 2 short term foster placements, and has had at least one very positive sleepover. He has devoted volunteers who take him home to play and chill out every week and on walks in the nearby forest. He is always playful, happy, and affectionate. He has gone on the ice at Chicago Wolves games. Famed influencers Eric and Joey have run with him and featured him with Puppy Bowl merch. He has handled the spotlight beautifully. When Snail finally gets his chance, he is going to make the best friend, cheerleader, fitness buddy, and snuggler.
