About Dorothy
Lions and tigers and Dorothy, oh my! While feline Dorothy isn't en route to the Emerald City, she was found walking down the Yellow Brick Road in search of a place to call home. Okay, maybe it was an old Misssissipi road riddled with potholes, but you get the picture. With her statuesque figure and impressively fluffy coat, you might actually mistake Dorothy for a lion or tiger in dim lighting. Never fear - you won't have to ask the Wizard to give you courage, as her enthusiastic purrs and chirps will quickly reveal her unwavering sweetness. Like the beloved character, Dorothy befriends everyone she meets and delights in spending quality time with people. She loves to show affection with head butts and chin rubs and will never turn down attention in the form of pets and ear scratches. Though Dorothy has not been introduced to children, her easygoing nature and heart of gold would be well-suited to a home with kids. She doesn't mind other friendly cats but would also be content as the sole focus of her family's attention. Dorothy hasn't met any dogs yet, so slow introductions with respectful dogs would be key for her to bond with a Toto of her own. Dorothy has outstanding litter box manners and enjoys having her fabulous fur brushed. Her ideal home will have a sturdy cat tree for climbing with lots of scratching posts. Dorothy is waiting patiently for the right person to come along so she can click her paws together and say “There's no place like home!” All of the Sweet Paws animals are loved a great deal by their rescuers, fosters, and the volunteers who've cared for them along the way. Your kitten will be up to date on appropriate vaccinations by adoption day, but please keep in mind that kittens require multiple routine vet visits throughout the course of their first year. Sweet Paws is staffed by volunteers, and processing applications is time intensive; therefore, we ask that you only submit an application if you are fully committed to adopting.
