Hi, my name is Carl, I am from Alabama. From his foster: Carl is a sweet and shy boy who is looking for a quiet home. Carl was recently rescued from a Puppy Mill that was shutdown due to neglect and living conditions. He has had a rough start on life and needs a quiet, understanding home that can help him learn what love is. At this time he is not potty-trained because he is too scared of the new environment of the back yard. We have been taking him outside to get used to it, and are hopeful that once it is no longer a scary place, he can be house-trained. Carl needs a home with no small kids as fast movement and loud sounds are terrifying for him. Carl has done well with the small dog in the house, though he has been pretty shutdown, so there is not much interaction. From the Vet: Meet Carl, a 6-year-old Yorkshire Terrier mix who is as resilient as he is sweet! Since joining The Bond Between in January, Carl has been on a dedicated healing journey. After receiving plenty of TLC for his skin and ears, Carl underwent comprehensive dental surgery. During the procedure, it was discovered he had a diseased and fractured lower jaw. Fortunately, the fracture was stable on its own, and our veterinary team successfully removed all his diseased teeth to keep him pain-free. Carl's Current Health Status: Dental Care: He has a follow-up with the dentist in early April to ensure his jaw is healing perfectly. Long-term, he will simply need annual dental exams with a primary care veterinarian. Anxiety Support: Carl is currently working through building confidence and may need long term anxiety medication to best thrive as he navigates the world. This brave boy has put his toughest days behind him and is ready to find a forever home where he can be pampered!
