Axel was four months old when he was found abandoned with a serious wound at a Houston vet clinic. Thanks to the immediate, compassionate care from the vet clinic, Axel is healing beautifully. He will be completely vetted and fully recovered before he makes his next move. Our biggest priority is finding the perfect foster or forever home for him. He’s a survivor who deserves a family that will never give up on him. While Barrio Dogs is not a traditional rescue group, we believe that given the scale of Houston's homeless animal issue, everyone should be doing their part. When a vulnerable pup like Axel is left behind, we step in to bridge the gap and ensure he has a fighting chance at a better life.
