🩶🐾 #Slate Checking In… and he’s ready to leave the shelter behind. 🐾🩶 Slate came to us just last week after a kind finder noticed him hanging around their home. And honestly… they couldn’t say enough good things about him. He was friendly, gentle, and so easy to be around — like he had already decided people were his safe place. 💛 And that’s exactly who Slate is. We’re estimating him to be around 3 years old and about 55 pounds of pure sweetness. He is AMAZING on walks , calm, easygoing, and just happy to be by your side. He doesn’t ask for much… just a little love, a little attention, and someone to walk through life with. 🐾 There’s not a person he doesn’t like. Truly. Slate is kind. He is affectionate. He leans into you like he’s been yours forever. But we want to be honest , because that’s how we set them up for success. Shelter life isn’t easy on him. While he’s wonderful with humans, he does not seem to enjoy the company of other dogs here. The noise, the chaos, the constant stimulation… it’s a lot. And you can see it in him — the way his body softens when he gets away from the kennels, the way his whole demeanor changes when he’s just with his person, walking quietly, finally able to breathe. Slate isn’t meant for this environment. He’s meant for a home. A calm home. A peaceful routine. A couch to curl up on. A person to call his own. 🏡 We have not cat tested him at this time, and due to his discomfort around other dogs, we are recommending he be the only pet in the home.
