About Maggie

Maggie did not have the best start to her life—she was used for breeding for her first 8 years and then was being given away once she retired. Despite all this, she is a very gentle, sweet-hearted lady. Because she was not exposed to much in her past life, she is very, very scared so she will be more of a project than your typical golden retriever. She is being fostered in a home with children, a dog, cats, and chickens and has been nothing but gentle and kind with everyone. That said, they had to carry her outside since she would not get off her bed for the first few days. She is starting to get more comfortable, but it will be an ongoing project to help Maggie with her confidence. Are you willing to give this pup the amazing life she deserves? Email us for an application! We do NOT respond to PetFinder inquires; we only respond to emails sent to adopt@scituateanimalshelter.org regarding adoption inquires. We never know how quickly a pet will be adopted. Therefore, if you are interested in a pet but want to see them during our shelter open hours prior to filling out an application, we strongly recommend that you email us at adopt@scituateanimalshelter.org before visiting the shelter to ensure they are still there. Open hours are Wednesdays 1:30-6pm, and Saturdays and Sundays 10am-2pm for you to come view our adoptable pets. You can apply for animal at the shelter during our open hours or online by emailing adopt@scituateanimalshelter.org and asking for an application. Adoption fees allow our non-profit to continue to help pets in need. Meet and greets with animals are scheduled after applications have been processed and we’ve determined you are the best fit. We do not operate on a first come, first served basis.
