I may do best with a family who has owned dogs before.<br/><br/>Meet Harvey!<br/>Harvey is a 4-year-old, neutered male, Mountain Cur mix, weighing in at about 56 pounds with a handsome black and brown brindle coat. He recently came to the shelter after his previous owners personal circumstances changed, so he is now looking for a new family to call his own. Harvey previously lived with a family who described him as being very loving, cuddly, and eager to please. During the day, Harvey often enjoyed relaxing on the couch and snoozing, but he also has a medium energy level and would love daily exercise. He enjoys walks, running around the yard, and playing fetch with rope toys. Harvey knows a few basic commands, and his previous owners reported that he was house trained and would wait by the door to let you know he needed to go out. Harvey can be a little jumpy when greeting new people and is still learning his manners, so he may do best with children 8 years and older who are comfortable around larger, rambunctious dogs. Harvey lived as the only pet in his previous home. He has been playful with new dogs and may be able to live with another dog pending a proper introduction, but history shows he would do best in a cat-free home. He is generally a fairly quiet dog, though he may bark when excited.
