She would be happiest with a family that can offer her space to run—her ideal home includes a securely fenced yard and a comfortable couch for snuggling. Dixie’s hugs are the real deal, and she’s been known to win people over fast. At about 1 year and 8 months old, Dixie weighs in around 32 pounds and is fully grown. No one’s pinned down her breed for certain, but you can see hints of mountain cur and maybe a touch of small bully mix. What’s certain is her affectionate, intelligent nature. She’s up to date on all vaccinations, spayed, and microchipped. Dixie does have a unique medical need: she has Diabetes Insipidus, which requires a twice-daily Desmopressin tablet. Insulin is not part of her care—just this specific medication, and the rescue will fully reimburse her adopter for it every month. Because she has been found as a stray previously, she absolutely needs a secure, above-ground fenced yard. Dixie is not house trained yet and does not get along with cats.
