About Kaitlyn
***Kaitlyn is currently located at our rescue in Georgia. She is scheduled to attend our upcoming adoption event at the Tractor Supply in Ringoes, NJ over the April 18-19 weekend. An application for her adoption can be submitted at socorescue.com (no need to register or login). Questions about Kaitlyn and/or our adoption policy should be sent to socorescue8@gmail.com; please do not call the Rescue's phone number.*** Kaitlyn's journey through life prior to coming to SoCo Rescue saw her having to overcome a number of obstacles. Found as a stray with a litter of nursing pups was only the beginning of her problems as she had also suffered a broken jaw most likely due to being hit by a car. The injury left her with a permanent dent to the left side of her head and made any attempts of eating almost impossible, causing her to also be very thin and starving. Despite all that she was facing, Kaitlyn provided for her pups, who were fat and healthy. The surgery that she needed was very expensive and not something that we could easily afford. But thanks to a couple of wonderful people who covered the cost of her surgery and after four months of healing time, Kaitlyn has now fully recovered from her ordeal and is now ready to find the loving home that she so deserves. Despite all that she went through, Kaitlyn has such a wonderful personality. She simply adores all people and gets along great with other dogs. While not fully cat-tested, we do believe that she'll have no problem coexisting in a home with feline companions. You simply won't find another dog who has so much love to give. In addition to her surgery to repair her jaw, Kaitlyn has also been spayed, received an update on all of her annual vaccinations and de-wormings and even tested negative for heartworms. She did test positive for Ehrlichiosis, a tick-borne bacterial infection but our vet doesn't think that will cause her any issues in the future. Please consult with your vet regarding Ehrlichiosis. Kaitlyn is also crate trained and has done very well on her house training.
