About Lois
Lois is a 3-year-old Pit Bull Terrier looking for a permanent home after spending months in a crowded Bakersfield shelter. Despite her rough start in two packed metal warehouses with over 300 dogs and no outdoor runs, Lois has shown resilience and a calm nature. She’s not yet house trained, so she will need some guidance as she transitions out of shelter life. Lois stands out with her black, brown, and cream short coat and that sturdy, affectionate Pit Bull build. CAPS is working with Kern County Animal Services to help Lois and many other high-risk dogs get a chance at real homes. Adopters and foster homes are urgently needed—foster placements must be in Kern County, but West Coast adopters may qualify for transportation help. Lois is spayed and up to date on her vaccinations, making her ready to start fresh with someone who wants to make a difference. This sweet dog is ready for a change and a family to call her own. Start your journey together! Apply now.
