She can be shy at first and easily overwhelmed, so she’ll need a calm, quiet home with a patient adopter. Duchess must be the only cat and would do best in an adult home or with older, gentle children who can respect her boundaries. Once she feels safe, Duchess is affectionate, loyal, and full of playful energy. She loves toys (especially catnip) and will happily let you know when it’s time to play. She enjoys attention on her terms (chin, ear, and booty scratches are her favorites!) and will give clear signals when she’s had enough. Duchess does require regular grooming and a higher quality diet to keep her looking and feeling her best.
