She came to us as a stray, bravely fending for herself, and is still learning that indoor life can offer safety, comfort, and plenty of love. After her rescue, Maisie was evaluated by our veterinarian for some inflammation in her right eye, which was likely caused by minor trauma or possibly an allergy flare-up. Fortunately, no further treatment was needed, and she’s been doing well ever since. True to her tortoiseshell roots, Maisie has a bit of a “spicy” side, but that just adds to her charm. She currently shares one of our larger rooms with other shy and reserved cats and coexists peacefully with her feline companions. With the help of several dedicated volunteers, Maisie has made wonderful progress and is beginning to seek out affection, often leaning into gentle chin rubs and even curling up in a welcoming lap. Maisie will need a patient and understanding adopter who can give her the time she needs to fully blossom. But for those willing to earn her trust, the reward is incredibly exciting, especially when she shows off her irresistible roly-poly belly, a sure sign you’ve won her over, and you have found your way into her heart! Adoption fee includes carrier, scratching pad, starter pack of food and litter, and toy. We prefer kittens be adopted in pairs. We offer free advice anytime about your adopted cat. If, for any reason, it doesn't work out, we will take the cat back, anytime in the future. Potential adopters must be interviewed in person, at the shelter, and live within 150 miles of Cincinnati.
