Duchess is a big, happy girl with an even bigger personality. She is friendly, affectionate, and absolutely loves people, especially children. If you sit down, she will happily roll over for belly rubs and soak up all the attention you are willing to give. She is housebroken and has never needed to be crated, as she is comfortable being loose in the home. Duchess knows some basic commands and is very people-oriented. She forms strong bonds and enjoys staying close to her person, even following along off leash when in a safe environment. Duchess does have a playful, sometimes over-the-top side. She can get a little mouthy when excited and will need an adopter who can provide structure, boundaries, and guidance to help her channel that energy appropriately. With consistency and continued training, she has all the potential to be a wonderful, well-mannered companion. Because of a past negative experience, Duchess would do best as the only pet in the home. While she is not reactive without reason, she is not comfortable living with other dogs and will be happiest where she can be the center of attention. Duchess is looking for someone who understands big personalities and is ready to give her the leadership and love she deserves.
