Meet the Cats of Gettysburg at the Kitty Corner by Forever Love Rescue Meow meet Sylvester! Sylvester is a sweet tuxedo gentleman with a quiet soul and a story that speaks to resilience. Once part of an outdoor colony, he spent his early life fending for himself - learning to survive, but never truly knowing comfort. When he was finally trapped, the plan had been to return him to the colony. But Sylvester had other plans. After his surgery, it became clear something wasn’t right - his mouth was painful, red, and inflamed. Instead of being released, he was given a second chance. His caretaker kept him close, offering soft food, gentle care, and a trip to the vet that would change everything! Sylvester underwent multiple dental extractions due to severe stomatitis and it was during this time he was also diagnosed as FIV+. Life had already been hard enough for this shy, skittish boy. Facing the outdoors again with these challenges would have been nearly impossible. So his caretaker became something more - a foster mom - giving Sylvester the time, safety, and compassion he had never known. And Sylvester has blossomed! He has made beautiful progress in both his health and his confidence. His FIV is well managed, and he responds well to treatment for his stomatitis, including ongoing care and a special diet to keep the symptoms at bay. Even more heartwarming since Sylvester has come to the rescue his sweet, loving, goofy, playful side has shone through. He loves pets and attention and will even jump up next to you for some extra love. He enjoys spending time with his feline friends including his bff Gary! The two of them can often be seen sharing a meal or curled up together for their afternoon nap. Though still a gentle and cautious soul, Sylvester is sweet at heart and longing for a place to truly belong. He dreams of a home filled with patience and understanding - a person who will move at his pace and stand by him through every step of his journey. More than anything, Sylvester is looking for someone who will see beyond the labels. Someone who loves him for who he is. He is a healthy handsome boy who does not let labels define him. What defines him...is his heart! Be his person. The one who will promise him what he has never had before: a forever home where he will never be left behind again! Stomatitis is an inflammatory condition in a cats mouth that can cause pain and sensitivity. It’s manageable with proper vet care, a specific diet, and regular monitoring. Cats with stomatitis can still live happy, loving lives with the right support. Adoption fees are $60 for adult cats and kittens over 6 months old, $100 for kittens (under 6 months) and $30 for senior cats (7 years+) to help cover vet bills for spay/neuter, basic vaccinations, testing, microchips and preventatives. No cat will be officially adopted without being spayed/neutered and vaccinated (unless there are health risks in doing so). We highly recommend adopting kittens in pairs and we do discount for double adoptions here to encourage it.
