About Esme
Esme: The Mother Who Deserves to Be Someone’s Baby Esme is the kind of dog that makes you stop and stare. Beautiful, ethereal, classy… with the longest ears and the sweetest long snout you’ve ever seen. And yet, in her mind, she is a lapdog. All 79 lbs of her. Esme came to us after being dumped with her newborn puppies. Twelve of them. And she raised every single one like a queen. Patient, loving, and completely devoted, the best mom from day one. Her babies have all gone home. Now it’s her turn. Despite everything she’s been through, Esme still has the heart and antics of a puppy. She loves plush toys, soft beds, and being close to her people. She’s incredibly smart, clearly had a home before, and is potty trained and naturally protective; but not aggressive. She’s also a favorite around here at shelter, so much so that she spends her nights crashing in the office with our cats like she owns the place. She’s estimated to be between 3–5 years young, and she’s the kind of dog who will meet you with quiet loyalty, gentle humor, and a presence that just feels… special. And if you’re eating something? She’ll politely let you know she’s interested. Esme has done her job. She raised her babies. She survived being abandoned. Now she just needs someone to choose her.
