Meet Cotton! 🐾 Cotton is a very handsome 4-year-old, 27 lb. boy, who we believe may be a poodle/terrier mix, with a pretty, white coat that will require regular brushing and grooming to keep him comfortable and looking his best. Cotton is a sweet, sensitive soul who is looking for a patient and understanding person to help him navigate the world. Cotton can be wary of strangers, so he will need slow, gentle introductions. However, once Cotton bonds with his person, he is incredibly loyal and loving. He will likely become your "velcro dog," following you from room to room. (If you value personal space in the bathroom, Cotton might have other plans!) Cotton has a nice balance of playful energy and cuddle time. He loves being outside in the yard where he can run, explore, and zoom around to burn off some energy. He enjoys playing with toys, especially taking every single one out of the toy box! After he’s had his fun, Cotton is more than happy to settle in and snuggle up next to his person for some TV time and relaxation. Cotton can be easily spooked by loud noises or sudden movements, so he thrives in a calm, predictable environment. He is insecure during walks on leash and will need someone willing to continue his "confidence-building" exercises at a gentle pace. Since he struggles with separation anxiety and dislike of crates, he’s not a fit for apartment living and needs a home where someone is around most of the day. He dreams of a home with a secure, fenced-in yard where he can safely romp around and get the zoomies without the pressure of the outside world. Cotton may be best suited for an adult-only home or one with older, respectful children who understand his need for space and that he can be a bit skittish and startle easily. He coexists peacefully with the other dogs in his foster home, but at times he values his personal space. He would do better with a polite, and playful canine companion at home to give him confidence.
