About Pina
Pina is one of the remarkable “81 Speedway Shepherd Girls,” discovered near 81 Speedway outside Valley Center, KS, and brought to safety after life as a stray. Inspired by racing legends, her name, Pina (from Alpina), suits her resilience and strength. Though she arrived with Gema, the two are not siblings and will be placed separately to thrive as individuals. Pina stands out as a thoughtful, observant young German Shepherd, about 1.5 years old, who is steadily gaining confidence with structure and steady routines. She’s learning what home life means and getting more comfortable each week. On leash she’s making progress, getting used to walks, and is open to guidance from people. Pina gets along with larger dogs—she’s done especially well with similar-sized females and bigger males. She’s comfortable living solo or with the right dog but does not need canine company to feel secure. Because of her start, a home without small dogs is best unless you have experience and the right setup. She’s not yet house trained and will benefit from ongoing patience and consistency. Pina’s ideal adopter is experienced, patient, and able to offer structure to help her build on her progress. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
