About Franklin
Franklin is a Chow Chow/Pug mix with a complicated but deeply loving personality. At four years old, heās fully house trained and crate trained and picks up new commands quickly thanks to in-home training. Franklin struggles with anxiety and has a known history of aggression toward other dogs, especially smaller ones, and he should be the only animal in the house. Heās uncomfortable around unfamiliar men and will bark when they enter, but over time can warm up and becomes excited to see those he knows. With women, Franklin is at ease and shows his affectionate, playful side. While he has shown interest in a new baby at home, he hasnāt been aggressive toward the child. Franklin does not destroy household items and prefers spending his energy on play or cuddling with his people. Heās happiest with a family who can give him structure, continued training, and understand his boundaries. He needs a patient, experienced adopter who is willing to commit the time and consistency Franklin needs to thrive. Heās not a fit for homes with other dogs or where men are uncomfortable with a slow introduction process. Franklin has so much potential for the right household willing to help him lead a secure life. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!

Questions about Franklin
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Franklin, as a Chow Chow/Pug mix, does best in a calm, structured home with consistent routines. His background suggests he may thrive where there are few other animals and patient owners who can provide continued training.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
A medium-sized yard or regular walks will keep Franklin healthy and happy. While the Chow side enjoys space, the Pug influence means he's not overly demanding when it comes to exercise.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Franklin has shown interest in the baby in his current home but no aggression. Chow Chows and Pugs can do well with respectful, older children, but because of Franklinās history, he'd be best in a child-free or experienced home with careful supervision.
