About Molly

Molly is a young female Border Collie/heeler mix. She came into our prison dog program in December when her person passed away. She weighs 37 pounds and is estimated to be 2 years old. Molly is the typically high energy border collie who loves people, attention, exercise and things to do together. She also enjoys the company of other dogs. She can be very active with other dogs and would require continued training on reducing her energy with them. Cue is EASY!! It is near impossible to have a bad day being around Molly’s positive, happy demeanor. She will make you feel important and loved. She did well in her training. Her cues are: Look, Come, Sit, Stay, Wait, Leave it, Down, Off (needs reminding when she sees you and wants to greet you. We tell her to SIT first, then approach), Stand, Be Kind, Easy, No Bite, Ouch, Lets Go, Heel, Kennel, Time Out, Go Potty. She is potty trained. She can play so hard she forgets to go potty and should be reminded. She is good on leash and loves walks and jogs with her humans. The more the better. She will then be contented to lay down and hang out some. Leash walking on heel command is best done with a treat/lure in hand. She shows little interest in retrieving but may gain that interest over more time with her person. Her favorite toys are a wubba Kong, tennis ball, rope toys (we do not allow dogs to play tug of war) and a jolly ball. She carries these around. She is very treat motivated. She is current on vaccinations and will be spayed very soon.
