This could be the start of something paw-some. Malasadas is a truly special Portuguese Podengo in need of a very specific, experienced home. At just 11 months old, this lively pup has always lived indoors and must never be kept solely outside. He thrives best in a rural setting, far from busy city life, with a large fenced-in yard or roomy acreage to explore. Malasadas is territorial and protective, showcasing a high prey drive for wildlife, especially squirrels, and would not be suitable in a home with cats. With people, Malasadas is an affectionate lovebug—he seeks out attention, is very social, and delights in every moment with his humans. He's goofy, silly, and snuggly, and has been picking up leash training quickly, always keen to listen to his handler's guidance. While he displays a strong desire to play with other dogs, his energy can be intense and may become reactive if he feels the need to protect his territory. Malasadas may do well in doggy daycare or on short playdates, but in his own home he must be the only animal. Malasadas needs an adopter with plenty of patience, experience, and time to dedicate to his happiness.
