About Blackie
Blackie is a ray of sunshine with a playful spark and genuine loyalty. This 2-year-old Scottish Deerhound/Giant Schnauzer mix has a medium black and cream coat and weighs about 50 lbs. Her playful attitude and sturdy frame make her a fun, active companion for someone who enjoys time outdoors and plenty of games. Rescued off the streets with her sister, she’s looking for a fresh start and a family to call her own. Expect plenty of affection—Blackie thrives on connecting with her people and will stick by your side no matter what. She enjoys playtime and a good cuddle, and her easygoing, loyal nature shines through once she settles in. Blackie gets along well with other dogs and will need another playful dog in her new home. She’s crate and house-trained, though leash walking is still a work in progress; a harness is recommended. She is not suited for homes with cats and needs a home with teens or adults only. A secure, stockade-fenced yard is required, and a home visit comes before adoption. Blackie is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, on heartworm prevention, and microchipped. She’s ready to be someone’s best friend—she just needs the right match. Your new best friend is just one click away.
