About Peggy
Meet Peggy Peggy is a 3-year-old, 45-pound terrier/small hound mix with a beautiful tricolor coat and a personality that’s just waiting to shine in the right home. This smart, athletic girl is the perfect mix of playful energy and cozy companionship—she’s just looking for someone to help her feel safe again. Peggy came to Dogworks after her previous owners, who loved her dearly, were no longer able to give her the exercise and stimulation she needs. The recent changes have left her feeling a bit unsure, but with patience, love, and consistency, Peggy will absolutely blossom into the loyal best friend she’s meant to be. She’s happiest when she has an outlet for her energy—whether that’s going for walks, playing with her toys, or watching the world go by from her favorite window. And when the fun is done? Peggy is more than happy to curl up in her bed… or even better, right in your lap Peggy can be a little skittish when meeting new people and may need time to warm up. She tends to do best with calm, patient individuals and seems to have a soft spot for women or gentle personalities. Because of this, she would thrive in a quieter home without small children. Peggy’s perfect match: ** A home with a fenced yard to safely burn off energy **Possibly one other calm, medium-sized dog (she loves the neighbor dog!) ** No young children ** A patient, understanding adopter who will give her time to build trust Peggy is potty trained, walks well on a leash, and already knows some commands like down, come, and leave it. She does well at the groomer and boarding, and she LOVES car rides—your future road trip buddy is ready! Like many sensitive souls, Peggy can get nervous and may bark or retreat when she’s unsure, but once she knows you, her affectionate, loyal, and even silly side really shines through. She just needs someone willing to see past her initial nerves and give her the stability she’s been missing. She is spayed and is up-to-date on vaccinations.
