Meet Twinkie! Twinkie is a 4-year-old male Pit Bull with a sweet, affectionate personality that will absolutely melt your heart. His previous home wasn’t ideal, and he experienced some flea-related hair loss (fully treated!), but nothing has dimmed this lovable boy’s spirit. Twinkie is ready for a patient, compassionate family to call his own. Twinkie truly shines once he’s out and spending one-on-one time with people. On walks, he does wonderfully. He enjoys exploring, sniffing, and taking in the world around him. He’s curious but well-mannered and settles nicely after getting some exercise. Twinkie shows just how smart and connected he is. He knows “sit” and “shake,” enjoys playing fetch, and loves engaging with his people. During an office visit, he happily worked on a food puzzle and completed the Brick twice — a smart boy who enjoys using his brain! Twinkie has also participated in playgroup. Staff have learned that he is playful and social, but he can be a bit much for some dogs due to his enthusiastic play style. Because of that, he would do best with dog friends who enjoy an active, playful companion and can match his energy. Twinkie thrives in homes that include him in daily life and offer gentle guidance, structure, and love. He is friendly with other dogs (with appropriate matches) and has reportedly done well around cats. He would do best in a home where he feels safe, secure, and truly part of the family — with people who understand that the dog you see in the kennel is not the dog he truly is.
