About Stella
Stella is a small, black and white, short-haired mix who turns heads with her long back, mortified-sweet face, and freckled cow spots. She plays in short bursts with her canine foster siblings before claiming her spot on the couch to nap—she's just not wired for high activity. Her days are spent quietly at home, napping alongside other dogs while her foster parent works nearby. Stella’s past was rough: arrived scared after raising puppies, she needed time and patience before realizing that humans can be kind. Even now, she’s uneasy with new people, warming up after a few days to become a truly friendly and cuddly companion. Stella thrives with other dogs and needs a confident canine buddy as a role model—she finds comfort in their presence. She isn’t housetrained yet and uses potty pads indoors; outdoor time still makes her nervous. What Stella needs: a home with at least one other dog, a gentle and understanding adopter, and time to settle in. If you’re patient, you’ll see her transform into a loyal friend who relishes love and comfort. Home visits are required and only families in Chicago and the suburbs are eligible.
