Meet Saffron! This handsome 35-pound puppy has a heart as big as his playful personality. Neutered and up to date on vaccinations, he’s eager to find his forever family. Saffron is the ideal mix of adventure buddy and cuddle companion. As a young pup, Saffron is energetic, curious, and always looking for the next bit of fun. He enjoys playing and exploring, but once playtime ends, he’s happiest curled up in your lap soaking in affection. One of his favorite moments is coming out of his crate for snuggle time, where he absolutely melts into his humans. Saffron is great with children, having shown his polite nature at PrairieFest by happily sitting for pets and enjoying all the attention. He’d thrive in a home with another playful dog, though he can be content as an only dog if he receives ample love, attention, and exercise. Currently living with cats, Saffron is learning that they don’t always share his enthusiasm for playtime. When they tell him no, he respectfully backs off and sometimes gives a hopeful bark. This smart pup is making great strides in crate and house training. He sleeps through the night for up to 10 hours and is reliable with potty training when kept on a routine. While he settles in his crate willingly, he appreciates encouragement when it’s time to go inside. Curious about everything, Saffron believes many objects deserve a taste test. He’s working on his leash manners and what’s appropriate to chew. With consistency and plenty of positive reinforcement, he’s on track to become an amazing companion.
