About Clifford
Meet Clifford. At 7 years old, he’s the kind of dog who genuinely wants nothing more than real connection. Clifford thrives on just being close—he’ll curl up next to you, trot along on walks, or light up at even a short game of fetch. After an outing, his face tells you everything: happy eyes, floppy ears, and a look that says he’s exactly where he belongs. Clifford doesn’t care much for toys or fancy treats, but give him your full attention (or, if you really want to win him over, some rotisserie chicken) and he’s in his element. Fully house trained and easygoing at home, he doesn’t counter surf or chew out of boredom. He simply enjoys being around his person. He does have some separation anxiety and gets anxious when left alone, but he’s improved with crate training and the support of medication. He’ll keep making progress in a stable home that can give him structure and patience. Clifford needs to be the only dog in the house, and he’d be happiest with a yard for lounging and rolling around. On leash, he might act protective or reactive with new people or dogs, but off-leash his sociable side often comes through. He just needs someone willing to help him navigate those tough moments. The way he runs, like a little horse, is uniquely charming. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
