About Lucky + Dd~
Lucky arrived six weeks ago as a nervous, shy dog who would dart away if anyone came near. Since then, Lucky has made progress—he responds to his name, follows along with the other dogs, and walks beside his foster mom. He’s even started venturing outside on his own, a big step for a once fearful pup. Lucky has discovered the pleasure of being outdoors, enjoys observing other dogs, and likes to be close to his person. His growing comfort shows in small moments, like waiting patiently outside the bathroom door for his foster mom, convinced she was still inside. Lucky is still decompressing. He can be shy around newcomers, sometimes barking or retreating if overwhelmed. He’s not a “perfect” dog, but he’s learning to feel safe in a home and needs a little patience and reassurance. Those willing to help him continue building confidence will earn his trust—and his deeply loyal companionship. Lucky does best with people who understand it takes time for some dogs to adjust, but who appreciate the reward of watching a timid dog blossom. Lucky gets along with other dogs and cats. Potential adopters must meet him by appointment and be pre-approved. Lucky is fostered in Columbia, TN; local adopters or those willing to travel for a meet and greet are ideal.
