About Linda
Click apply to start the adoption process. Linda is a gentle, one-year-old Border Collie and Australian Shepherd mix who weighs about 37 to 40 pounds. This sweet girl has a soft and sensitive soul, shaped by her story of resilience that only makes her more special. She was found in an isolated area, suffering from malnourishment and covered in fleas and ticks with painful skin issues. After being discovered by a kindhearted person and given medical care and love, Linda received a second chance at a happy life. Due to her past hardships, Linda is very shy and submissive. It took about six months in foster care for her to feel safe enough to accept gentle pets without fear, but she’s showing progress every day as she learns the world can be kind. Linda absolutely loves other dogs and is happiest when she has a canine companion. She thrives when she can follow the lead of a playful, confident dog, so she’ll need a home with another friendly pup to help her blossom. She is housebroken and does best in a calm, consistent environment. Linda isn’t yet comfortable on a leash and will flatten to the ground when one is put on, so a secure, fenced yard will allow her to safely play and explore. Linda is searching for a patient and compassionate adopter who will give her the time she needs to come out of her shell. In return, you’ll watch her joyful transformation from survivor to thriver. Home visits and vet/reference checks are part of the adoption process, and adopters must live within an hour of St. Louis, MO. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
