Taryn is about four years old, weighing in at roughly 34 pounds, and carries herself with the easy confidence of a dog who’s figured out life’s simple joys. She came to Mostly Mutts from animal control and has since been soaking up care and attention from the volunteers. Taryn is currently thriving in a prison/foster training program, picking up new skills every week, and she’s eager to bring that same drive to her new home. She wants to be the only dog in the house—other dogs don’t suit her style. Her reaction to cats hasn’t been tested yet. With kids, introductions are important; she hasn’t met children at the rescue and probably wouldn’t do well with toddlers who might get knocked over. Taryn’s active and vocal, so apartment life likely isn’t the right match, but a lower-traffic home with room to play would be more her speed. She’s picked up a solid foundation of commands like sit, stay, and leave it, and she’s looking for a person who will keep up her training. Crate time is smooth, but she’ll need time to settle into a regular potty schedule in a home. Bath time and nail trims can be a little nerve-wracking for her, and she may need a soft approach at the vet. Taryn’s current on her vaccines and is spayed.
