Meet Paula, a 6-year-old German Shepherd who was found as a stray and is now looking for her forever home . Paula has made wonderful progress since arriving at the shelter-each day she becomes more confident and comfortable as she bonds with people she trusts. Paula is naturally timid and shy when meeting new people, so we recommend an adult-only home where she can take her time to feel safe and relaxed. Once she warms up, she shows her gentle, affectionate side and truly enjoys human companionship . She did well in a playgroup with a small dog, showing that with proper introductions she can enjoy the company of other dogs. A meet-and-greet is highly recommended to ensure a good match. Paula recently received a dental cleaning and had a mammary mass removed, and she is healthy and ready to start her new chapter. She currently has 4 sutures on the left side of her caudal mammary glands that will need to be removed after 3/25. Her adopter will need to bring her back to have these sutures removed. Paula is looking for a patient and understanding adopter who will give her the time, space, and love she needs to fully blossom into the loyal companion we know she can be .
