About Odin
Odin is a senior Australian Shepherd who recently lost both eyes, but don't let that fool you—he’s adapted quicker than most people would. He came to rescue after surgery, having survived the shelter with another dog as a stray. His buddy didn’t make it, but Odin’s found a way to thrive, especially around people. He’s not just tolerant of humans; he’s absolutely devoted and seeks out their company. While Odin needs some time to warm up to other dogs—especially males—he does seem to get along best with females once he’s familiar. Guiding him verbally is easy, as his hearing’s sharp and he comes to his name. Routine helps Odin settle in, and he now walks nicely on leash and is mostly house trained. Since losing his sight, Odin prefers environments where he feels safe and can sense the people around him. He likes spending time outdoors, though he may not be the quietest neighbor when left alone, so a house with some space is best. Consider him for a home that can offer patience and companionship, as he can be vocal when separated from his people. Odin’s lost some weight and his activity level is up now that he’s recovered; with a little time and attention he’ll continue to adjust and find his stride. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
