Meet Riley, an 8-year-old Shih Tzu mix with a big heart and an even bigger love for snuggles. Riley originally came to us as a boarding dog, but due to unforeseen circumstances, his owner—who clearly loved him deeply—had to make the difficult decision to surrender him so he could receive the care he deserves. Riley is a sweet, affectionate companion who truly enjoys the simple things in life. He loves sunbathing, lounging around the house, and being close to his humans. Like many dogs with personality, Riley has a bit of a mind of his own, which only adds to his charm. Riley does well with other dogs and has shown curiosity about cats, though he hasn’t had the chance to interact with them without a barrier. With proper introductions, he may do well in a home with feline friends. He would likely make a wonderful family dog, as he absolutely loves attention and being around people. Despite his small size, Riley’s heart is huge. He’s ready to find a loving home where he can relax, feel safe, and share all the affection he has to give.
