Much like the cowardly lion, who he resembles, Mac puts on a good tough front. He was surrendered by his owners due to a whole variety of unfortunate circumstances. Mac happily jumped into the transport van for the ride to the shelter. Wary of hands approaching over his head and warming up to women much quicker than to men, Mac needs an understanding, patient owner who he learns he can trust. Comfortable being handled by numerous volunteers, Mac is a smile-machine on his walks and a grumpy heap of fur when put back in his kennel. As with many dogs who have had a rough life, trust is earned through patience and time. The approximately 90 lb boy is 5 years old. For the big dog lovers who love big dogs, Mac is waiting for you. You can visit the dogs from noon - 3 pm Saturdays and Sundays, otherwise by appointment.
