About Mellow
Mellow is an eight-year-old male Chihuahua mix who should weigh around 10lbs, so a little attention to diet will help keep him healthy. He landed at a shelter after getting a reputation for being nippy with staff, but his foster experience tells a different story—outside the shelter, he’s a relaxed little guy, open to handling and never turning down a good round of butt scratches. Mellow is doing well with potty training, follows a regular routine, and walks nicely on leash. He doesn’t need a fenced yard and has shown he doesn’t really need a crate either. His teeth are in good shape (looks like he’s had a recent dental), and he’s dog and cat friendly. His main request? A basket of squeaky toys. Mellow is available as a foster-to-adopt while he awaits a vet check and senior bloodwork; once cleared, he’ll be officially adoptable. Long-distance adoptions within the US will be considered after his vet visit. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
