About Brodie

Brodie is an 11–12 year old, 8-lb terrier mix who thrives on close human companionship. He is fully housebroken, leash trained, and happiest when he's curled up near his person or out for a walk. While perfectly content without a yard, Brodie isn't for a casual adopter—he needs someone experienced with nippy or complex dogs. Brodie has a history of biting, tends to get nippy if startled, forced, or handled in sensitive areas (especially eyes), and isn’t suitable for homes with children. Managing him calls for someone skilled at reading canine body language, who will respect boundaries and stick to clear routines. He can be reactive to loud noises or unfamiliar situations due to past stress, but with calm, predictable handling, he settles and becomes a loving, loyal sidekick. Brodie gets along with other dogs and cats, but needs a quiet, adult-only home willing to accommodate his arthritis and ongoing dry eye care (medication runs about $50/month). Stairs are best avoided. If you know and appreciate complicated little dogs and are up for a seasoned companion who insists on structure and respect, Brodie could be the right fit.
