Dakota is a majestic 3-year old male Husky who was brought to the HSOV on March 11, 2026 after his beloved master who had loved him dearly had passed away, and Dakota suddenly lost his best friend in the world. Dakota was understandably very sad when he found himself in an unfamiliar place with so many other dogs nearby since the only home he had known was a quiet, indoor setting with his owner. Our shelter management/kennel techs fully understood how Dakota was feeling, so they arranged a more quiet accommodation for him where he could decompress for awhile and be given extra attention. Within a week or so, Dakota was feeling more relaxed and loved being with his newly-found shelter family. This handsome guy has a gray-and-white dense/medium-haired coat, a long bushy/fluffy tail, and a beautiful Husky face with a gray mask, pale blue eyes, a long slender white muzzle, a black button nose, and extra-large erect ears. His owner's family told us that Dakota loved his people friends. Dakota is also good with other dogs as well as cats. These photos of Dakota were taken on the afternoon of March 20, 2026 when HSOV Kennel Tech Cheyenne Laskowski accompanied him for outdoor 'glamour pictures. Dakota was the perfect gentleman with Cheyenne by his side, and he showed us his super-sweet disposition while he posed beautifully for his photo session. Dakota weighs 70 lbs and walked well on a leash for Cheyenne. This magnificent boy has already been neutered, so he could leave our shelter immediately with an approved HSOV adoption application. Dakota would love to be back in a real home again with someone special who would love him as much as his former master did.
