About Smokey
They are ready to love you; are you ready to apply? Smokey is a joyful and resilient dog searching for a special home where he can truly belong. Despite facing some health challenges, Smokey's cheerful spirit shines bright. He has some previous back trauma leading to Spinal Spondylosis, a degenerative spinal condition, but this is kept under control with daily medication to ensure his comfort. Currently, Smokey is also being treated for heartworm, and as he goes through his recovery, he is seeking a foster-to-adopt home where he can heal. His needs are simple: quality time, tasty treats, and plenty of love—Netflix nights are right up his alley! Smokey is looking for someone who will enjoy the journey with him and provide a safe, loving environment as he continues his path to better health. At Canine Companions Rescue Center, dogs are often brought in from animal control, so prior history may be limited—but a supportive adopter can make all the difference. Make their next chapter their best one yet.
