Tamale
AvailableTamale is a young, small Chihuahua mix with red and white fur. At just over 18 months old, he’s already neutered, up to date on his vaccinations, and reliably house trained. He’s currently living in Warren, RI, adjusting well to his foster home and ready to find a patient adopter to help him blossom even more.
About Tamale
Tamale is a 10-pound, 18-month-old Chihuahua whose enormous ears match his big, generous heart. He’s come a long way from a rough start and is opening up into a gentle, affectionate little dog—especially when he feels safe. In his foster home, Tamale idolizes his dog siblings, chasing them around and snuggling with them whenever possible. He spends his days romping with furry friends, sneaking snacks, and finding quiet corners for cozy naps. He's still working on trusting new people but is highly treat-motivated, making training straightforward. Tamale is potty trained, gets along with other dogs, and is learning to be more relaxed around cats (though they still get him a bit wound up). Leash training is going well, and he’d do best with continued support going out in the world. Tamale needs patient, kind adopters who understand what shy or underconfident dogs need—someone who can give him space, calm reassurance, and plenty of reward-filled encouragement. He’s being fostered in Austin, TX and is adoptable across Texas and in Northeastern states, though he’ll need to be met in person. Fun fact: With an April 10 birthday, Tamale is an Aries—full of curiosity and quiet boldness. Give him the gentle confidence he deserves, and you’ll have a devoted companion.
