Adorable TOOTSIE, named after the famous Tootsie Roll candy due to her dark chocolate brown color, is a 6 year old, 12 pound Shih Tzu. She is a very sweet girl that does well with the dogs in her temporary foster home that are also small dogs. TOOTSIE enjoys being outside on these warmer days so a fenced yard for her safety and enjoyment is needed. She is doing well with her housetraining with her foster mom home with her during the day and is able to let her outside as needed. A new owner who is home during the day or works from home would be helpful to keep her on her schedule. Since coming into rescue, TOOTSIE has had the following vet care: she had her exam and bloodwork, fecal check, has been spayed and had a dental cleaning with extensive extractions, had her distemper combination with lepto plus booster, bordetella, and rabies vaccinations, and is microchipped. She is on heartworm/flea preventative.. If you meet the above requirements and think your home is the one for TOOTSIE, the first step is to contact us by email (NOT using the Petfinder link as we have difficulty receiving those inquiries) so send the email to: aboutrescuedogs@aol.com AND tell us about your family situation and explain why you think your home would be a good match for TOOTSIE. Also please include your name, address, and phone number in the email. We will also require the name and phone number of your vet clinic as a reference so phone ahead and advise them we will be calling. If TOOTSIE appears online as adoptable, she is still available. TOOTSIE will be shown at a meet and greet after approved application completion. Her adoption fee is $500 and includes (all new) collar, leash, harness, toys, crate, and food.
