About Charlie
Meet Charlie - our gentle house horse with the biggest heart. Charlie is a 2-year-old female Great Dane who recently joined us from one of our rural shelter partners after being surrendered by her owner. Before coming to rescue, Charlie lived with four other dogs and was reportedly the happiest girl. So when her entire world suddenly changed, it's no surprise that she was a little confused and unsure of what was happening. Despite everything she's been through, Charlie has shown us again and again just how resilient and loving she truly is. Since arriving in her foster home, Charlie has been settling in beautifully. She absolutely adores small dogs and puppies and enjoys their company so much. Right now she isn't the biggest fan of other dogs her size, but she's already making great progress and is working closely with a trainer in Charleston who will help continue building her confidence and skills as she prepares for her forever home. And when we say Charlie is a big girl... we mean BIG. Weighing in around 140 pounds, she is every bit the classic Great Dane - tall, goofy, and wonderfully affectionate. But despite her size, Charlie is truly a gentle giant. She loves nothing more than curling up for cuddles, soaking up attention from her people, and being close to those she trusts. She walks beautifully on leash, has wonderful house manners, and is truly just an all-around incredible companion. Charlie may have had her world turned upside down, but we know her very best chapter is still ahead of her. Somewhere out there is a family ready to welcome this sweet girl, couch cuddles and all. If you're ready to add 140 pounds of love to your life, Charlie just might be your girl. Interested in adopting Charlie?
