About Stanley
Click apply to start the adoption process. Several weeks ago, Stanley was found lying on the side of the road after being hit by a car. His condition was dire, and immediate action saved his life. Since then, he has been recovering in a loving foster home and has shown incredible strength and resilience. Initially, Stanley was very sick and severely underweight, with almost no teeth remaining. He now eats three small meals a day and takes multiple medications to help him safely gain weight and heal. Recently, some health concerns emerged—Stanley began breathing with more effort and lost interest in food, a worrying sign given his past as a starving dog. He was quickly taken to the veterinary hospital for evaluation, where radiographs and a cardiology consult diagnosed him with Pulmonary Hypertension, a condition that will require ongoing monitoring. Fortunately, he is not in heart failure at this time. Additionally, Stanley's x-rays revealed a history of severe mistreatment, with dozens of BBs lodged across his body—evidence that he was used for target practice at some point in his life. Despite such tragic circumstances and countless hardships, Stanley remains a gentle and loving soul. He adores people, gets along well with other dogs, and responds to kindness with unwavering trust. Stanley has endured so much, and the rescue is committed to giving him the life he deserves. While he is not currently available for adoption due to ongoing medical care, his journey is one worth following. The hope is that once medically cleared, Stanley will find the most wonderful forever family. By the way, Stanley is a Pisces—known for their gentle and empathetic nature, a fitting match for this brave soul. Lets make it official, apply to adopt!
