About Juliet
“Juliet is a 2-year-old chiweenie/shepherd mix who loves to be cozy and relax at home, where she is very polite and full of adorable personality. She is smart and well-behaved. She’s potty trained, knows “sit,” “go outside,” “go to your bed,” and is crate trained. She loves treats and meal time. She didn’t always have a safe home to shine in or food in her tummy. The first part of her life was scary, where she learned that humans would hurt her and she was left to starve on the street. She gave birth to 4 precious little puppies and was the best mama she could be. Then Animal Care Services picked her and her little family up, but the shelter setting was not the ideal place to raise her puppies either. We saw her there, trying to nurse her newborn babies, and decided she needed a quiet, loving space in our home to care for them. Now all of her pups have found wonderful homes and Juliet would love to find her own permanent home. She is extremely loyal and loving when she has had a little time to get used to you. Because of her experiences, she is unsure of new people approaching her at first and shows her fear through barking. Once she has had time to get comfortable, she is ready for tail wags and pets. She has demonstrated that she remembers our family members after meeting them and adjusts to them quickly when she sees them again. On walks, she usually does not bark at people and can be easily redirected. In spite of her little stout frame, she loves to go on runs and play outside, but is content to have a chill day at home as well. She barks at dogs if she gets close but when given the chance to get acquainted, she will play or chill with them. We believe she could be happy as either an only dog or with a dog friend, but would need a comfortable introduction first. She LOVES children who are respectful and kind and would be great with a family, or with an individual. If you know anyone who is looking for a sweet little companion, let me know and I can answer any questions and provide more information!”
