About Bruce Wayne
Bruce Wayne is a 1 year old, ~60 lb bulldog mix with a heart as big as Gotham and a personality that’s equal parts snuggly couch potato and playful puppy. If you’re looking for a dog who will love you hard, follow you everywhere, and make you laugh daily—Bruce is your guy. And yes, his head is a little wonky. We have done x-rays and consulted with our vet and the consensus is that he was either born with his skull a little lopsided or this happened when he was a very young puppy (think mom accidentally stepping on him). It has no negative impact on his health! Just makes him extra special and adorable. Personality & Temperament: Bruce is ridiculously affectionate—the kind of dog who melts into your arms and thinks personal space is overrated. He’s a certified Velcro dog who bonds deeply with his humans and thrives on companionship. He’s gentle, friendly with everyone he meets, and has a silly, joyful spirit that makes him impossible not to love. His tail wags like a drumstick, and his signature move is full-body wiggles when he’s happy (which is often). Despite being young, Bruce has a low-to-medium energy level and leans more “couch potato with zoomies” than “wild child.” He’s happy lounging all day, as long as he gets his people time, a walk, and a little play. Social Life: Dogs: Loves them! Friendly, playful, and respectful—he’d thrive with a canine sibling or frequent doggy playdates. Cats: Unknown - he has not been cat tested. People: 10/10 friendly and affectionate. Total love bug. Kids: Unknown, but with his sweet/gentle temperament, we think he would be great with kids 6+. Training & Skills: Bruce is a smart cookie who already knows sit, place, come, and drop it, and he’s working on stay, crate training, and paw. He’s highly treat-motivated and eager to please, making him a dream to continue training. He’s house-trained, walks beautifully on leash (no pulling or reactivity!), and is a calm, quiet car passenger—though he prefers a lift into the car and may occasionally get a little carsick. Home Life: Bruce would do best in a home where he gets lots of human interaction (WFH or someone home often is ideal). He would love a yard and/or another dog to help build confidence and burn energy. His adopters should be committed to continued training and structure, as he does experience some separation anxiety, so patience and consistency will be key as he continues to build confidence when left alone. He’s making progress and settles faster on good days. Daily Life & Fun Facts: Loves walks, but doesn’t need intense exercise Enjoys playing with other dogs and puzzle toys Sleeps wherever you are—crate, dog bed, or ideally…snuggled up next to you Obsessed with peanut butter and treats Quiet and rarely barks Afraid of… the vacuum (his only true nemesis) *PLEASE NOTE: all of our dogs are fostered in Houston, TX, where our rescue is based. Once an adopter is confirmed, we work with our trusted transport partners and adopters to find a time and pickup place that works for everyone!
