Jake
AvailableJake is a medium-sized, short-coated brindle Plott Hound/Tennessee Treeing Brindle mix, currently in Okmulgee, OK. He’s an adult neutered male, vaccinated, and fully house-trained. Jake is affectionate and incredibly smart, but he needs a pet-free home due to his special needs. His personality and unique energy make him stand out wherever he goes.
About Jake
Jake is around 2.5 years old, weighs about 47 lbs, and brings a spark of joy to any space he enters. He’s got a knack for antics—whether he’s bouncing on the trampoline solo or sprinting up and down the slide, he’ll keep you on your toes. Fetch is his favorite sport, and he’s always up for an adventure outdoors. Jake loves affection and is quick to feel at ease with new people. He’s both house-trained and crate-trained, and he knows his basics: sit, down, and wait. You’ll find him athletic, goofy, and engaging, with neighbors often stopping just to slip him treats through the fence. Jake is food-safe and has a streak of charm that wins people over fast. There’s one thing to know: Jake must be the only animal in the home due to a traumatic event with another dog, which left him fearful and dog-reactive. He isn’t safe with cats or small dogs and cannot live with other pets currently. Staff are still assessing if he can safely be around dogs his own size in limited circumstances, but for now, a pet-free environment is essential. Jake needs an active adopter who enjoys walks, hikes, and structured routines. A fenced yard would be a real bonus for this athletic, squirrel-chasing brindle. Jake thrives best with patience, clear structure, and a lot of heart. Think Jake could be your perfect companion? What are you waiting for? Apply today!
