About Cosmo
Cosmo arrived at the rescue with his brother Tugle, both originally labeled as Kangal shepherd dogs by a shelter partner. In reality, Cosmo is a fantastic mix, probably including some Kangal blood, but definitely not a purebred. Around here, we jokingly call them "Fangals"—short for *fake* Kangals. If designer mixes like doodles get a name, these boys do too. Cosmo’s DNA is a true grab-bag, just like his brother Tugle’s, who tested as a mix of six breeds. He’s large, medium-coated, and has a strong, stubborn, and protective streak, yet he’s also affectionate and playful. Cosmo is neutered, fully vaccinated, and house trained. He’s heartworm negative and ready for a home that understands large guardian breeds. He’ll do best with a large, assertive female dog and an experienced owner of guardian-type dogs. Cosmo gets along with other dogs and children, but really needs someone who gets his headstrong style. He isn’t your starter dog. Cosmo is currently in Marshville, NC and is part of the new “Fangal” club. What are you waiting for? Apply today!

Questions about Cosmo

A mix like Cosmo often requires significant outdoor space. Access to a secure, fenced area where he can roam and patrol will keep him happier and healthier.
