About Arwen
Arwen is a tenderhearted 3‐year‐old girl weighing about 13 pounds, and she is still looking for a family who can give her the gentle, steady love she's been missing. Her adoption fee is $300. She came to us from a local city shelter after being found as a stray. Staff there noticed she was limping and needed more care than they could provide, so she was transferred to us for further evaluation. Our veterinary team examined her and found evidence of old injuries consistent with being hit by a car. Her left hip is dislocated, but she does use the leg to some degree. At this time, surgery is not planned. Adopters should understand that she will always have some level of limitation on her hind left side, though we do not believe this will prevent her from having a good quality of life. Her bloodwork also showed elevated liver enzymes, which can indicate past or current liver stress. These levels will need to be rechecked in about two months to monitor for improvement or changes. Emotionally, Arwen is a scared and overwhelmed girl in the shelter environment. She can be a bit head‐shy when she isn't comfortable, so she will need a patient adopter who can give her time, space, and reassurance. She does well with other dogs, but she would do best in a home with calm companions who won't jump on her or risk aggravating her hip. Because we don't observe our animals in home settings, we aren't able to guarantee whether they are housebroken. Upon intake, every animal receives: Spay/neuter surgery Microchip All age‐appropriate vaccinations Blood and fecal testing (with treatment if needed) Flea, tick, and heartworm prevention A complimentary wellness exam 7-10 days after adoption Please note that adopters must be at least 21 years old and live within an hour of our facility. If you'd like to meet Arwen or talk through whether she might be a good fit for your home, I'm here to help. She's a gentle soul who just needs someone willing to see past her worries and give her the safe, loving home she deserves. 🐾✨
