Arwen
AvailableArwen is a small adult female Terrier currently living at Animal Hope. She weighs around 13 pounds and has been spayed, with her vaccinations up to date. Arwen has some mobility limitations with her left hind leg due to an old injury, and her liver enzymes should be rechecked in a few months to monitor her health. She is looking for a new home where her gentle nature will be nurtured.
About Arwen
Give them the home they have been waiting for. Apply today. Arwen is a tenderhearted 3-year-old girl weighing about 13 pounds, searching for a loving family to provide her with the gentle and steady affection she has missed. After being found as a stray and cared for at a city shelter, she was transferred due to a limp and the need for additional medical attention. Upon examination, Arwen was found to have old injuries likely from being hit by a car, including a dislocated left hip. While she uses her leg to some extent, surgery is not planned, and adopters should anticipate she will always have some limitation with her left side—though this should not affect her ability to enjoy a happy life. Her bloodwork showed elevated liver enzymes, which her new family will need to monitor and retest in about two months. Arwen is easily overwhelmed by the shelter environment and is a bit head-shy when she feels insecure. She will thrive with a patient adopter who can offer her reassurance, space, and time to settle in. She gets along well with other dogs and would do best with calm canine companions who won’t aggravate her hip. As she’s only been observed in the shelter, her house training status cannot be guaranteed. Upon joining your family, Arwen will have received spay surgery, a microchip, all age-appropriate vaccinations, blood and fecal testing (and treatment as needed), flea, tick, and heartworm prevention, and a complimentary wellness exam 7-10 days after adoption. Adopters must be at least 21 years old and within an hour of the facility. If you’re willing to look beyond her initial worry and see her gentle spirit, Arwen is ready to blossom in a safe, loving home. As a fun fact, Arwen is a Pisces—she’s likely an affectionate, sensitive soul who forms deep bonds with those she trusts. This could be the start of something paw-some.
