Arwen
AvailableArwen is a small, three-year-old spayed female Terrier living in Fort Worth, TX. She weighs about 13 pounds and is up to date on her vaccinations. Arwen gets around well but has a slight limp in her hind end due to old injuries, which may always cause some limitations. Her recent bloodwork showed elevated liver enzymes that will need monitoring, but she remains a loving and resilient companion looking for a steady, gentle home.
About Arwen
Arwen is a tenderhearted three-year-old Terrier weighing about 13 pounds, looking for someone to offer her the gentle, steady love she’s missed out on. She arrived as a stray, limping from old injuries likely caused by being hit by a car. After a full veterinary evaluation, it’s clear she gets around surprisingly well—she just has a mild limp, mainly on slick floors. Surgery isn’t needed, but she’ll always have some limitation with her back legs. This shouldn’t stop her from living a good life, but whoever takes her home should be mindful of that. Recent bloodwork revealed elevated liver enzymes, suggesting some past or current stress to her liver. These levels should be rechecked in about two months to watch for improvement or changes. Arwen can act a little head-shy when she’s not sure about someone, so patience and a slow approach matter. Once she’s comfortable, her true self—sweet, social, and genuinely happy—emerges easily. She does well with other dogs, though her companions are best matched to her own small size. House-training status is unknown. Every animal in our care, including Arwen, receives a spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations, parasite screening and prevention, and a post-adoption wellness exam. Adopters must be at least 21 and live within an hour of our Fort Worth, TX facility. Ready to meet a gentle soul ready for her fresh start? Your new best friend is just one click away.

Questions about Arwen
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Terriers like Arwen typically do well in homes where they can receive steady attention and regular activity. They adjust well to apartments or houses, as long as their exercise needs are met.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
While Terriers benefit from access to outdoor space, Arwen’s small size and slight limp mean she doesn’t require a large yard. Short, supervised walks or play in a secure small area are generally sufficient.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Many Terriers are well-suited for families, but it’s best if children are taught to be gentle and respectful, especially with dogs like Arwen who can be a bit sensitive and head-shy.
