About Kirsty
Pug Rescue of New England (PRoNE) is a non-profit 501(c)(3), all volunteer foster home based rescue organization. MEET KIRSTY: Your future tiny couch potato Kirsty is a 4-year-old pug who has bravely overcome life’s greatest hardship: apartment living with rules. After her previous human couldn’t keep her, she’s now free to pursue her true calling—professional lounging. She was brought to us through our partnership with Pug Nation Rescue of Los Angeles. A dedicated volunteer accompanied Kirsty on her plane ride across the country to PRONE. She’s been spayed, had a dental cleaning (RIP to 13 teeth—gone but not forgotten), and is currently living her best, healthiest life. She is a petite girl at only 18 lbs. Personality and Preferences: Kirsty is mostly house-trained but will need some patience as she settles in. She prefers a calm, low-energy environment, meaning if your idea of fun is running marathons, she will be cheering you on... from a blanket... indoors. Hiking? Absolutely not. Kirsty believes in being carried through life—ideally in a stroller like the royalty she is. Make no mistake though, Kirsty does well on leash and enjoys her walks, but a girl can dream about the life of a royal. She's heard stories about strollers and bags and thinks those accessories are very desirable! She gets along with all dogs and would love to join a full-on pug gang (a “grumble,” which honestly sounds like her mood before breakfast). Cats? Probably fine. Kirsty’s main concern in life is comfort, not conflict. Life in Her Foster Home Kirsty is thriving, which mostly means she has perfected the art of sleeping in. She will wake up for breakfast, though—she’s not unreasonable. Due to her minimalist tooth collection, she prefers soft food and has become something of a Fresh Pet connoisseur. Her hobbies include: · Gently gnawing on treats like a tiny retiree · Occasional surprise zoomies (lasting approximately 7 seconds) · Gluing herself to humans or nearby dogs like a fuzzy barnacle What Kirsty Is Looking For Kirsty is searching for a deep, soulful connection... with someone who also enjoys doing absolutely nothing. She thrives in the presence of other chill dogs and dreams of having her own squad of equally lazy companions. She is affectionate, loving, friendly, and unapologetically committed to the nap life. Her favorite place? Under blankets, like a mysterious loaf. This girl is so chill, she doesn't even care if you are trimming her nails! Ya heard that right! A pug who cooperates with nail trims! She may seem to have high expectations, but Kirsty isn't going to yell at you if you don't meet them. She is a quiet girl who occasionally voices her opinions, so apartment or condo living would suit her with a letter of permission from landlord. In her ideal world, her human would never leave her side. Work from home? Perfect. Bring your dog to work? Even better. Quit your job to cuddle full-time? Kirsty fully supports your career change. While is foster care Kirsty has only been left alone, with her 2 foster canine companions for a few hours at a time on a couple of occasions. She has not shown signs of separation anxiety, but she has shown signs of loving to be right where her human is. Kirsty loves all the people she has met along her journey. She does get grumpy if her food dish is approached, as evidenced by a growl of warning, but has not escalated beyond that. Bonus: she’s great in the car, mostly because it involves sitting. Kirsty is microchipped under Pug Nation LA and adopter can register through 24petwatch Ready to Meet? If you’re looking for a gentle, snuggly, slightly tooth-challenged best friend who will love you forever (as long as you provide blankets and snacks), Kirsty is ready to move in and dramatically improve your couch experience!
