About Trudy

Trudy is that rare combination of gentle, loving, and quietly playful—right when you think you’ve scrolled past every good option, she pops up. Around 3 years old and about 62 lbs, Trudy is a Black Lab mix who landed in a Louisiana shelter simply because big black dogs often get overlooked, but volunteers immediately noticed her soft nature and saved her in time. Now her foster reports she adores hanging out with her people, snuggling, sunbathing outside on nice days, and getting into whatever you’re doing—especially if food is involved. She gets along well with other dogs and cats, happily sharing space with her canine foster sisters. Kids are an unknown so far. Trudy began shy but warms up at her own pace, her big brown eyes winning you over. Most of the time she’s mellow, but she’ll get short spurts of energy to play or nudge for a toy, then contentedly lounge by your side. She’s house trained, uses a dog door, and respects the crate when left alone. If you don’t have a yard, she walks nicely on a leash. She’s already spayed, microchipped, heartworm treated, and fully vaccinated. Trudy is fostered in North Louisiana, but transport is available all along the East Coast. What are you waiting for?
