About Clyde

Clyde has survived conditions that most dogs never have to face. Left outside during bitter cold, chained with barely any shelter or steady meals, he endured hardships that took the lives of others. He made it through, but came out with serious food anxieties—a result of too much time wondering where his next meal would come from. Routine feedings are still new to him, so he’s slow to trust that hunger isn’t coming back. Missouri Humane Society’s investigative team intervened and rescued several dogs in the same situation. Clyde was one of the dogs entrusted to us. At the shelter, he struggled to gain weight—a common issue for dogs that stress in cages and just can’t adjust. We are trying everything to help him gain weight and find some peace, but it’s a process. He’s just a few days into his new routine here, and there’s a long road ahead for him. Clyde is heartworm positive, and treatment will start once he’s settled. He needs someone patient who won’t give up on his healing—both physical and emotional. Every effort now counts, whether it’s a foster or permanent home. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
